Plain Bear's distinctive style developed from our years spent studying sculpture at university. From working in the genre of contemporary minimalist, this was adapted to the medium of silkscreen for big bold pieces. With university over, the passion was still there but with no outlet. Turning to The Prince's Trust, Plain Bear was able to hand craft its own little silk screen workshop (handmade exposure unit, do-it-yourself wash booth, knocked up dark room) in a draughty barn. Now with the tools, sticking with the ideals 'less is more', we began to create.
